I am looking at Ralph Steadman's style of drawing for my What is a Line brief because aside from being one of my favourite illustrators, I really like the way in which he uses line. His illustrations tend to have a scribbly chaotic quality, using marks and lines to suggest physical features rather than using more traditional and visually accurate styles. I want to try and capture the abstract quality of his work in my own work, by interpreting the subject with a more open minded approach, rather than worrying about the outcome of the drawing.
